Several months ago, it was reported that Scarlett Johansson was at the top of the list of actresses being considered by director Simon Curtis to portray Marilyn Monroe in the “My Week with Marilyn” film. At the time, Kate Hudson, Amy Adams and Michelle Williams were also mentioned as possible stars.
Now, Production Weekly has learned that Johansson is out that its Williams (Brokeback Mountain) who is in-talks with Curtis to star in the movie, which is set to begin filming in June, 2010.
“My Week” will be based on the diary of Colin Clark, an employee of Laurence Olivier, who looked after Monroe when she came to London to film Olivier’s “The Prince and the Showgirl” in 1957. Clark published excerpts of his diary a year later, but left out the details of one week. These unreleased chapters will be the basis of the movie.
