Scarlett signs for ‘Audemars Piguet watches’

Scarlett Johansson and other stars such as Meryl Streep, Antonio Banderas, Jay-Z, Catherine Zeta-Jones are lent their signatures to Audemars Piguet watches in an event titled “Time to Give”

The proceeds will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. which is one of the nation’s leading industry-based, non-profit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. Mango spokesmodel Scarlett Johansson is one of seemingly few celebs who haven’t yet launched a fashion or accessories line, but that doesn’t mean she’s above celebrity design – she just needs a cause.

The actress and sometimes singer has sketched designs for a handbag to be sold at budget retailer Mango, with a cut of the proceeds going to Oxfam’s Haiti Earthquake Response Fund. The bag features the words “Supporting the people of Haiti, designed by Scarlett Johansson,” and retails for $29.90.

Johansson said, “I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Mango to promote conscious consumerism and to benefit Oxfam’s Haiti Earthquake Response Fund. By purchasing this bag, which I specially designed, you are helping to provide life saving assistance like clean water to the people of Haiti.”

Washington In the wake of Haiti earthquake, celebrities have come forward urging fans to donate for the victims. Stars including actress Scarlett Johansson, singer Wyclef Jean, Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are all doing their best to garner support.

“My heart goes out to the millions of people affected by the tragic events that have afflicted Haiti,” Fox News quoted Johansson, who is also Global Oxfam ambassador, as saying via her rep.

“As an ambassador of Oxfam, I urge those who are able to donate to the organization which currently has over 200 people on the ground and a team of 15 highly-experienced emergency specialists based in the capital that are responding with public health, water and sanitation services to prevent the spread of water borne disease,” she added.

Next spring’s “Iron Man 2″ premiere will be memorable not only for the stars of the film, but also for two lucky fans – thanks to cast member and Oxfam Ambassador Scarlett Johansson.

Johansson is auctioning off for charity two movie premiere tickets, as well as a meet-and-greet with the Golden Globe nominee herself.

All of the proceeds will benefit Oxfam America, an organization long dedicated to finding lasting solutions to poverty, hunger, and social injustice around the world.
